While working as a sales manager at a medical tape converting
company, Peter Ochsner discovered a niche hidden within the TENS industry. At the time,
TENS machine manufacturers each had their own customized tape patches that they sold with
their carbon rubber electrodes. Ochsner developed a universal tape patch or
“Uni-Patch” that could be used with any of these manufacturer’s electrodes
and in 1978 founded Uni-Patch®. In December of 1993, Ochsner chose to sell his successful
company to Ludlow Technical Products of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Ludlow, a subsidiary of
Tyco International Ltd./Inc., is a manufacturer of ECG electrodes and recording chart
papers.
Today Uni-Patch® offers the largest selection of TENS &
electromedical supplies
in the industry. We manufacture nearly 100 different electrodes for use with TENS, NMS,
FES, biofeedback, post operative, interferential and galvanic stimulation. Accessory
products include batteries and chargers, adaptors, lead wires, and a complete line of skin
care products.
